The Big Sleep In at The Mall Chequers Has Raised a fantastic £2,178.61 for homeless people!
Around 160 Cub Scouts held a sponsored sleep in at the Chequers Centre to raise the money for homeless and vulnerable people at Maidstone Day Centre. We were delighted when a group of the children and their leaders arrived at the Day Centre bearing a giant cheque for £1,640.11 but it got even better over the next few weeks with more cheques in the post making a grand total of £2,178.61
A big thank you to all the Cub Scouts and their leaders for such a tremendous effort to raise money for homeless people in Maidstone.
The event marked the official launch of the Kent Messenger’s Christmas Appeal, You Can Help. The campaign has now finished and we would like to thank all the supermarkets, volunteers and the KM for all their contributions of food which will help us to come to the aid of hungry people in Maidstone over this winter period. |
